Triad Smarty Pants

So you need to check out Triad Smarty Pants if you haven't already. I love getting e-mail updates from this blog! They always have fun and informative posts by cool moms. Sometimes it's about the local consignment sales, best preschools around, great ideas for birthday gifts for kids of all age groups, and I especially love the weekend event updates. I seriously check it just about every weekend to see what local stuff is going on! There are resources about the community, great links, and even contests!

This Thursday they are featuring mommy blogs in the triad and our adoption blog is on there!! Yay! So, go check out their site!

Seeds Family Worship Giveaway

I love giveaways! I especially love this one! Brian and I have started listening to Seeds Family Worship in the car and at home with Isabel. She loves it and we do too! The songs are all based on Bible verses and the music is not hokey. For real! We have only listened to the Encouragement one so far but it's great! As a teacher I am always promoting music to memorize things so I think that's why I love these! Anyway, another adoptive family blogger has offered a cool giveaway on her blog so if you're interested go there and make a comment about your favorite Bible verse and there are some other ways to enter too. Check it out!

Happy Easter!

Today has been a wonderful Easter. Isabel woke us up early because she was "hungry." We came out into the living room and she was so excited to see eggs hidden all around. Then she saw her Easter basket full of little goodies and a cute little Chippette doll that Brian found. After breakfast we spent some time reading the Easter story in "The Jesus Storybook Bible." I love this book. Not only does it have beautiful illustrations but it does such a wonderful job of showing how the story of Jesus doesn't just suddenly appear in Matthew but that the whole Bible is big story of God's love for us. That the whole Bible is pointing to Jesus. It tells the stories like a story, it draws you in. Go get it if you don't have it!

After we all got ready we headed to church. Our church is such a blessing to us. Brian and I try to explain it to people sometimes and we just can't. We love it so much. We have learned more at this church in a year than I can explain. It's inviting, loving, and full of grace. Pastor Alan is gifted. We love listening to him and learning more about Jesus' deep love for us. Even Isabel loves her class! Okay, so there's my plug for The Ascent at Reynolda Church. :)

So then we headed home to clean and get ready for dinner. For the past few years we have invited my grandparents, mom, and Brian's mom over for Easter. I make the ham and a desert every year. I love to cook so it's fun for me. I have mastered this ham y'all and it's SO good! This year Isabel and I made a bunny cake. She did a great job adding fur (coconut) and decorating. She named the bunny "Fuzzy Ears." She's a nut! So, check out some pictures!

So after the festivities we went outside for a little while and did some chalk drawings. After Isabel went to bed I signed on to read soem blogs. One of the sites I read is called The Rabbit Room. It has lots of different singers, songwriters, and writers. Our family loves Andrew Peterson's music and stories. Today, he put a special Easter song on his blog and I thought you should check it out. It's beautiful. It was a great way to end the day.
