How did all this start anyway?

Maybe some of you are wondering when all this started. Where in the world did all this come from? Maybe you're wondering why we want to adopt. I hope to be able to share a little with you about it. This might take a couple posts because it starts a long time ago. I hope you'll stick with me though.

When I was little I always wanted to adopt a child from every country. I got those Precious Moments dolls from around the world. Maybe it was because I was an only child but I believe it was because God was planting a seed in my heart even as a little girl. As I grew I realized that I loved other cultures. I wanted to live everywhere. I asked for a globe and geography encyclopedia in elementary school. By college I had already been to Spain, France, England, and lived in Mexico for a year. My minor was Applied Linguistics...the study of languages/cultures. I had very seriously considered being a missionary right out of college. So, I tell you all this to see that God had created pretty fertile soil for adoption. Well, fast-forward a bit to the summer of 2008. All during that summer I was seeing adoption everywhere....on the radio, internet, in conversations with friends, etc. I started thinking about it more seriously and wondering how to tell Brian what I was thinking! I prayed...a lot. :)
