At the beginning of January we submitted our USCIS paperwork (I-600A) for the 2nd time. The first time was in late November right before they changed the fees. Apparently our stuff arrived on the day before they changed the fees but they said they didn't process it until the actual day that the fee changed so therefore they returned our stuff to us and said we needed to pay them more money. For real. Anyway, so admittedly it took us a few more weeks to send off our stuff the 2nd time with Christmas, snow, and everything. Anyway, we submitted our stuff during the very first week of January and we still haven't heard anything...no news about a fingerprinting appointment or anything. It makes me nervous! Brian called them towards the end of January and they just said that they had received our stuff and they didn't know how long it would take. They said we could call again later to see about an update. Now, I know that you can sign up online for updates but we don't even have a case number and the lady from USCIS "was not allowed to give that out" so we can't log in to see our information there. Brian is planning to call them again tomorrow. It's so strange that every bit of personal information about our lives is floating around some office out there...Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Praying that you get news soon!
ReplyDeleteI feel you! We called after we got the referral for A to see if we could get them to rush it since we now have a child that is waiting for us. The first lady told us she couldn't access our file, gray asked why and she never really gave him an answer. The next lady said we were waiting for case worker, yet never really said what that means. So so so frustrating! Hoping you get some answers tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteaw man! i hope you get it SOON. it's so hard waiting on gov't agencies to do paperwork... both US and ET gov't!
ReplyDeleteHope you hear from them really soon so ya'll can get your FDL!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear your "luck" w/ the timing and fee change- I would've thought they woul go by the postmark date not the process date.
ReplyDeleteHope you hear back soon!!! We sent all of ours in 1-14 (Fed Ex overnight but holiday wkend), it took 2 wks to process 1-28 and our apt is tomorrow (2-25) but our 18 yr old son's isnt until (3-7). Thus, the time-frame took longer than we had been told is the "norm". We are biting our nails for we are 5 months today into our ontract to have all completed in 6 months.
Will say prayers and think positive for your family!
I just found your blog, and enjoy reading it. Hope you'll hear the good news soon
